Handal Indah , the Network Operator of BAS.MY Melaka, celebrated the service’s first anniversary with the introduction of the SISWA Card, a new initiative offering free bus rides for students from selected Malaysian universities.
Now operating 18 routes with a fleet of 55 buses — including low-floor mini buses and electric buses — BAS.MY Melaka has grown into a key public-transport service for both urban and rural communities across the state. The service was rebranded and officially launched in October 2024 by Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Celebrating One Year of Better Mobility
The anniversary event showcased Handal Indah’s efforts to improve accessibility, sustainability and passenger experience in Melaka. The highlight was the first promotion of the SISWA Card, introduced as an extension of the existing Kad Konsesi programme to provide free and seamless travel for eligible university students.
To mark the milestone, the celebration also featured a community art competition, where Melaka residents expressed their vision of local mobility. Many artworks proudly featured the distinctive pink BAS.MY buses, now a recognizable symbol of Melaka’s upgraded public-transport network.
A free health screening for attendees was also conducted in partnership with Klinik Keluarga One Medic (Cawangan Gangsa), adding a community-wellbeing component to the event.
Supporting Students & the Community
University students and other eligible passengers can easily register for the Kad Konsesi, including the newly introduced SISWA Card either at the dedicated registration counter in Melaka Sentral or through the LUGO App, BAS.MY Melaka’s official travel platform. Registration and subscription are free for Malaysians with a valid IC, with the option to obtain a physical Kad Konsesi for just RM10.
BAS.MY Melaka continues to improve connectivity for both residents and visitors. Among its key routes is the popular M100 line, which links passengers directly to Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, strengthening access to one of the state’s most significant cultural and tourism areas.
