Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, operator of BAS.MY Melaka, has launched its first influencer-led outreach campaign to broaden public awareness of Melaka’s state bus services and encourage more residents to embrace public transport for daily travel.
The campaign features a group of multilingual local influencers representing Malay, Chinese, English, and Tamil audiences who shared their travel experience using BAS.MY Melaka buses on social media plaforms like Facebook, Instagram and TikTOk while highlighting key commuter benefits such as accessibility, convenience, and real-time bus tracking via the LUGO app.
A major focus of the campaign is the Kad Konsesi, which provides unlimited free rides for eligible groups including senior citizens, students below 17, university students with valid SISWA cards, and persons with disabilities (OKU). Influencers also demonstrated the simple registration process through the LUGO App or via MyKad, with optional physical card issuance for RM10.
By tapping into familiar and trusted online voices, Handal Indah aims to make public transport information more approachable, especially for younger audiences and frequent travellers who may not be aware of the benefits available to them.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to connecting with communities in meaningful, modern ways,” said Sonny Cosme, Project Lead for the campaign. “Through digital engagement, we hope to encourage more Melaka residents to choose public transport as a convenient and cost-effective option.”
The campaign marks Handal Indah’s continued push to strengthen BAS.MY Melaka’s visibility through digital channels, supporting the state’s goal of increasing public-transport usage and improving mobility for all Malaysians.
