Handal Indah, through its public-bus brand BAS.MY Johor Bahru, joined the city’s monthly JB Car-Free Day to promote greener mobility and raise awareness on the benefits of public transport for the local community.
The programme, held along Jalan Wong Ah Fook, gathered families, students, senior citizens, and daily commuters for a morning of car-free activities aimed at encouraging healthier, more sustainable urban living.
At the event, the BAS.MY Johor Bahru team set up a community engagement booth to introduce residents to BAS.MY’s affordable and accessible travel options, including:
- Kad Konsesi – unlimited free rides for eligible groups (students, seniors, OKU)
- Kad 30 Hari – a convenient monthly travel pass for frequent commuters
- Service and route information to help new passengers navigate the BAS.MY network
Visitors were able to ask questions, register for travel cards on the spot, and learn how BAS.MY helps reduce transport costs while providing a safe and reliable travel option for daily journeys.
Speaking about the participation, the BAS.MY representative shared: “JB Car-Free Day is a meaningful platform to reach the community and show how public transport can make everyday travel easier and more sustainable. We’re happy to play our part in supporting a greener, more connected Johor Bahru.”
By participating in JB Car-Free Day, Handal Indah reinforces its commitment to community well-being, eco-friendly mobility, and increasing public awareness of the BAS.MY service, a key step toward building a more inclusive and sustainable transport culture in Johor Bahru.
