Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, through its public-bus brand BAS.MY Melaka, continued its community-engagement efforts by participating in the Program Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Othman Shawal in Kuala Linggi. The event brought together residents, students and families eager to learn more about affordable and accessible public-transport options across Melaka.
Throughout the day, the BAS.MY Melaka team engaged with visitors, explaining the benefits of the Kad Konsesi programme, which offers unlimited free rides for senior citizens, students below 17 years old, and persons with disabilities (OKU). Registration was made convenient via MyKad or through the LUGO App, helping eligible passengers begin enjoying seamless, subsidised travel at no cost. For those who prefer a physical card, a one-time RM10 fee is available.
To support working Malaysians aged 18 to 59, the team also introduced the Kad 30 Hari, a 30-day unlimited travel pass priced at RM50. One regular commuter shared how the pass would significantly reduce his monthly transportation costs, as he typically spends RM4 per one-way trip to work. The initiative reflects ongoing federal efforts to ensure smooth, affordable mobility for all Malaysians, especially frequent travellers.
The event provided BAS.MY Melaka with an opportunity to strengthen awareness of its statewide network, which connects urban and rural communities through reliable and affordable services. By engaging directly with residents, Handal Indah reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive mobility and to making public transport more approachable for the communities it serves.
BAS.MY Melaka is part of the federal government’s myBAS programme, supported by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia and managed through appointed transport agencies. Its participation in programmes such as Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat reinforces Handal Indah’s role in supporting national goals for accessible public transportation and community connectivity.
